In this stage, students are introduced to basic stroke technique in front crawl and back crawl as well as learn the breastroke kick and butterfly kick. Water safety is reinforced through treading water and elementary backstroke. Swimmers in this level must be able to swim a full length of the pool front crawl and a full length of the pool back crawl.
